We wouldn’t be able to deliver our work to rebuild lives across the borough if it wasn’t for the vital support of our volunteers.

From sharing skills at the Brick Works, supporting our Crisis Intervention Service at the Brick Project to helping us to fundraise, there are plenty of ways you can get involved.

See below our latest volunteering opportunities and contact fiona@thebrick.org.uk or call 01942 236 953 for more information:

Crisis Intervention Volunteer

Donate a minimum of 2 hours a week, Monday- Friday, between 9am-4pm

Based at Brick Project, your role would be to work with people facing crisis to provide information and advice to find immediate practical solutions to help people address the crisis. Training is provided.

Charity shop Volunteer

Donate a minimum of half a day Monday-Saturday 9-4.30pm

We need volunteers to help at our charity shop on Gidlow Lane in Wigan and the Brick Works on Hodson Street (behind Go Outdoors).

Volunteers are needed for all aspects of retailing. The Brick charity shop and The Brick Works site help us to supply low cost goods for people in need, as well as generate vital funds for our work.

Trainee Mentors

Donate a minimum of half a day Monday- Friday

Based at Brick Works on Hodson Street in Wigan, behind Go Outdoors. The Brick Works helps to rebuild lives by developing the skills of our mentees through upcycling and selling donated furniture, fixing broken bikes and running a community cafe.

Do you have a skill that you could teach others at the Brick Works? We’re looking for a wide range of skills that can be shared with our mentees including upholstering, woodworking, catering, painting and decorating.

Wigan Athletic Fundraising Volunteer

Donate a minimum of half a day per month, Monday- Friday.

We are very excited to be Wigan Athletic’s official charity partner for the season. The partnership will help us to raise vital funds for our #RebuildingLives campaign and make sure no person in our community is left behind. We need volunteer support to help with event administration and to help us collect during match days on an ad hoc basis.
