Outreach & Engagement Worker
1 x 37.5 hours per week over 5 days (The post will include evening and weekend working on a rota basis)
Salary £ 22,178.00 pa – 37.5 hours per week.
We are currently looking for an Outreach & Engagement worker ….
We believe that people can and do recover from the issues that create homelessness and we are working across The Wigan Borough delivering extensive outreach on the streets, working with accommodation providers and the local authority; to ensure rough sleepers have access to thorough assessment and a route off the streets as quickly as possible. As an Outreach &Engagement Worker, you will be supporting people who are sleeping rough to understand their routes off the streets and to tackle the barriers, with a particular focus on people sleeping in rough sleeping hotspots. You will also work closely with other teams at The Brick, local authorities, advice services, Police and support services throughout the borough.
This exciting role will involve working on housing, health, treatment and immigration issues with some of the borough’s most vulnerable individuals. Flexibility is required, as you will be expected to work shifts at unsocial hours as these are often the best times to engage with people rough sleeping. You will also have a driving licence and access to a car or not allow public transport to be a barrier to the role.
If you want to be part of a great team, believe in a holistic approach, then this is the post for you.
