Job Title: Brick Retail Assistant

No of Posts: 1

Salary: £9.30 per hour

Status: 6 months fixed term

Hours: 25 hours per week, ideally 09.30pm to 2.30pm 5 days per week.

Holidays: 22 days plus Bank Holidays per annum , pro rata for part time

Based at: The Brick Shop Wigan Town Centre

Responsible to: Retail Team Leaders

Accountable to: Queen’s Hall Action on Poverty Trustees

SUMMARY

The Brick is a small charity with big aspirations for people in need within our community. We provide RELIEF, RESTORATION and REFORMATION by offering tailored support, hope, and opportunity to those looking to improve their quality of life. This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual to join the charity in a new and exciting role. This unique role will need a combination of skills to be successful. You will be retail driven whilst at the same time be focused on the value of teaching people we work with new skills. You will have a desire to see individuals develop in their skills and confidence through their engagement with the Brick. You will be responsible for delivering a robust, sustainable retail outlet at the Brick Works, increasing employability skills and creating a culture where people want to learn and thrive. You will need to be as committed as we are to equip people from diverse backgrounds for self-sustaining and independent living.

Good communication and customer care service skills are essential to fulfil this role. Being able to work as part of a team environment and with the general public is essential. All our team members must share the ethos and values of The Brick and be prepared to use their own initiative at times to get the work done. The successful candidate must be respectful of others and flexible in their attitude to work, be able to take direction and contribute positively to the overall running of the shop
