The Brick Thanks Local Businesses for Bringing Christmas Hope to Local Families

The Brick thanks local businesses and community partners for their incredible generosity in helping support families and individuals in need across the borough in the lead-up to Christmas.

Thanks to the kindness and commitment of supporters including Hickorys Smokehouse and Cash for Kids, vital funds, food, clothing and Christmas essentials are reaching those who need them most during what can be the toughest time of year.

As part of Hickorys Smokehouse’s 12 Days of Christmas Community Challenge, the team was awarded £500 to donate to a local cause. After spending time with The Brick team and seeing the charity’s work first-hand, Hickorys chose to donate the full amount to support local families.

Ste Brotherton from Hickorys Smokehouse said: “After spending time with you all and seeing first-hand the incredible work you do for people in the local community, there really wasn’t any question about where the donation should go. The warmth, care and dignity you show to everyone who walks through your doors left a huge impression on our whole team.”

In addition, The Brick has received an extraordinary donation of food, Christmas gifts, warm clothing and outreach supplies worth more than £3,000, raised through a festive fancy-dress fundraising walk in support of Cash for Kids. The donation included food and festive treats, pet food, brand-new boots, sleeping bags and warm clothing to support people sleeping rough this winter.

Tony Taylor from Cash for Kids said: “Christmas should be a time of joy for every child and family, and we’re incredibly proud to support The Brick and the life-changing work they do locally. The generosity shown by everyone who took part in the fundraising walk will make a real difference to families who are struggling this Christmas.”

Keely Dalfen, CEO of The Brick, said: “We are so grateful to Hickorys Smokehouse, Cash for Kids and every single organisation, community group and person who fundraised, donated and supported us. Their generosity means families can have food on the table, children can receive Christmas gifts, and people facing homelessness can access warmth, dignity and care. At Christmas especially, these acts of kindness remind people that they are not alone.”

The Brick continues to work closely with local businesses, charities and community groups to ensure support reaches those most in need throughout the festive season and beyond.
