The Brick Leigh: We’ve Moved, But We’re Still Open!

The Brick’s charity shop in Leigh may have moved location, but its doors are very much open, continuing to support local people through crisis with affordable shopping, vital donations and community connection. The Leigh shop remains a welcoming hub at the heart of the town, offering great-quality clothing, homeware and vintage finds at low cost, while every purchase directly supports The Brick’s work tackling homelessness, poverty and hardship across Wigan and Leigh.

Shopping at The Brick isn’t just good value, it’s a powerful way to give back. With the ongoing cost-of-living crisis placing increased pressure on local services, The Brick needs donations now more than ever. The Leigh shop has ample and easy drop-off points, making it simple for residents to donate pre-loved items and help them find a second life. Right now, the shop is especially in need of white goods-such as fridges, freezers, and microwaves-to help local families and individuals set up safe, comfortable homes. If you have working white goods to donate, your support will make a huge difference to those facing hardship in our community.

As well as donations, The Brick is always looking for new volunteers to support the Leigh shop. Volunteering offers an opportunity to build skills, meet new people and play a direct role in supporting the local community.

The shop is more than just a retail space, it’s a place where people connect, feel supported and know they are making a difference.

“We know some people may think we’ve gone because we’ve moved, but we’re very much still here,” said Pauline Mitchell, The Bricks Retail team Leader. “Every donation, every purchase and every volunteer hour makes a real difference. Our shop is a community space, whether you’re donating, volunteering or just popping in for a browse, you’re helping local people who need support more than ever.”

The Brick is encouraging residents to rediscover the Leigh shop, donate what they can, including much-needed white goods, and consider volunteering to help keep this vital community resource thriving.
