within a social enterprise workspace for people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and financial vulnerability.
Our approach uses structured, supported volunteering as a bridge to stability, confidence and independence.
The project is underpinned by three key outcomes for participants: improved financial stability, stronger support networks, and increased engagement in meaningful activity. Volunteering is tailored to the individual, flexible, and fully supported, allowing people to rebuild routine, skills and confidence at their own pace.

Participants are supported by a team of professional, compassionate and non-judgemental staff in an informal, welcoming environment. We remove barriers that prevent people from reaching their potential and encourage individuals to pursue their ambitions without pressure or unrealistic expectations.
We work closely with our local business community to provide interview practice and work experience, ranging from taster days to regular placements of one to two days per week. Alongside this, we signpost to career guidance, interview coaching and confidence-building support to help people prepare for the next stage of their journey.
We also address digital exclusion by providing IT classes and one-to-one support to build essential computer skills.
Volunteering roles offer real-world experience in areas such as customer service, painting and decorating, kitchen support, deliveries and collections, facilities management, office administration and waste recycling.
In addition, our business partners enhance the programme by offering free training places, skills-sharing opportunities and supported volunteer days, delivering sessions either within The Brick or at their own premises. Together, this supported volunteering pathway helps people move away from homelessness and poverty for good, by building confidence, skills and meaningful connections.
