Changes to our Services 02/04/2020

In the light of the coronavirus pandemic, The Brick has agreed a business continuity plan. This has been devised by the organisation’s Executive Committee,  shared with relevant partners and agencies, and is being implemented and revised in line with government advice and developments.

The primary objective is to protect to the best of our ability those we work with, our staff and our volunteers. We are utmost aware that many of those we work with are in the most vulnerable category.

The Hubs in Wigan and Leigh have been closed temporarily and residents have been relocated Suitable, alternative accommodation. These individuals continue to receive support from The Brick, including Asset Coaches and Independent Learning Mentors working remotely.

The Brick Project has been suspended until further notice also, in order to help with social distancing and with staff working remotely to provide support to The Brick and its users.

The Outreach Team will continue to operate out in the community, providing invaluable support to the people we work with and making any necessary referrals.

St George’s Night Shelter provision was extended to 24/7 provision and extra hygiene measures were implemented. It has now closed temporarily to ensure safe distancing rules and those who were accessing this provision have been relocated to more suitable accommodation

The Food Bank This is to make the food items more secure and the staff safer. To minimise social contact, we shall collect donations to the food bank and distribute food parcels to those who are eligible. Admin staff provide support to this service.

Gearing Up is currently closed, but may re-open in the near future this will be communicated through Social Media.

The Hive is currently closed.

The Brick Works is currently closed to the public.

Showers can be accessed through a request by Phone, email, webchat and direct support from Outreach to those in need.
