Leigh showed its heart as well as its strength this summer, with Leigh’s Strongest 2025 raising an incredible £1,034.51 for local charity The Brick. The donation will be handed over this week, ensuring the money goes straight back into supporting people in need here in Wigan and Leigh.
Hosted by House of Grit & Glory in August, the grassroots strongman and strongwoman competition welcomed lifters of all levels, local families, and neighbours who turned out to cheer them on. From tyre flips to sandbag carries, the atmosphere was electric and every rep, lift, and donation added up to make a real difference.
Michael from House of Grit & Glory said: “We are so proud of what the community came together to achieve, and it was a privilege to support the incredible work The Brick continues to do for people in Wigan & Leigh. Leigh’s Strongest isn’t just about lifting weights, it’s about lifting each other up, and we couldn’t be prouder of our town.”
The donation will support The Brick’s local projects, which provide housing, food, and essential support for people facing crisis.
Keely Dalfen, CEO of The Brick, said: “We are overwhelmed by the generosity shown at Leigh’s Strongest. To see a local gym and community come together like this is inspiring, and this donation will help us give hope and vital support to people right here in Leigh and Wigan. We’re so grateful to everyone who made it possible.”
From music and food to the cheers of the crowd, Leigh’s Strongest 2025 proved that when the people of Leigh come together, there’s no limit to what can be achieved.
