Wigan-based Westwood Motor Group has donated a Vauxhall Combo van to The Brick for the third consecutive year to help the Wigan and Leigh charity continue to support people and families in the community.
Westwood Motor Group employs 21 staff from the Wigan borough, and the team, headed up by Managing Director, Chris Melling, made the decision to donate the first van to The Brick in 2018.
The vans donated by Westwood Motor Group have been used by a team of staff and volunteers working in The Brick’s foodbank, to deliver emergency food parcels and to collect donations.
Westwood Motor Group Managing Director, Chris Melling, said: “We have been proud to support The Brick for close to three years now. Westwood Motor Group has deep roots in Wigan and as we’ve enjoyed success here, it’s only right that we give back to the area we’re proud to be a part of and where we call home.
“The Brick is well known for doing tremendous good in the borough, improving the lives and life chances of the people they serve. It fills all of us here at Westwood with tremendous pride to be associated with the heroic efforts of this incredible organisation and it’s a privilege to work with such a worthy charity.
Keely Dalfen, Finance and Commercial Director at The Brick said: “We are all humbled by the generosity that Westwood Motor Group has shown to the Brick by donating not one, but three vans to us over the last few years. These vans have allowed us to continue to deliver emergency food parcels to 100’s of families in our community who really need our help.
“Many businesses have experienced hardship in the past year, due to the pandemic, so we were delighted and surprised when we received a new upgraded van from Chris and the team.
“We want to thank everyone at Westwood Motor Group, we couldn’t do what we do without the help and support of businesses like yours. Thank You!”
