Wigan 10k 2026 – Run With Purpose
Sunday 6th September 2026
This September, supporters will be taking on the Wigan 10k – not just as a race, but as a powerful act of solidarity with people across Wigan and Leigh facing poverty, homelessness, hunger, and hardship.
At The Brick, we see the impact of the cost-of-living crisis every day. Families are making impossible choices between heating their homes and eating. Individuals are arriving with nowhere safe to sleep. People are reaching crisis point with nowhere else to turn.
That’s why this campaign matters.
Outrun Poverty
Outrun poverty brings runners, fundraisers, and the wider community together with one shared goal – to help ensure no one in our borough faces crisis alone.
Every mile run and every donation raised will directly support The Brick’s frontline services, including:
- Emergency food provision
- Crisis and homelessness support
- Advice, advocacy, and prevention work
- Safe, welcoming spaces for people in need
For many, The Brick is more than a service — it is a lifeline at the moment they need it most.
One person we supported told us:
“I came to The Brick at the lowest point in my life. I had no food, no money, and nowhere else to go. I was treated with kindness and dignity when I needed it most.”
Another shared:
“Without The Brick, I honestly don’t know where my family would be. They helped us when we felt completely alone.”
These experiences are the reason this work exists.
Join the movement
Whether you’re running, walking, or fundraising, you can make a difference:
- Take part in the Wigan 10k or Family Mile
- Fundraise for The Brick through your challenge
Every step forward helps build a stronger, more supported community.
Together, we can turn the Wigan 10k into something more than a race – a collective effort to outrun poverty and bring hope to those who need it most.
