Urgent Call for Help!

As the colder weather approaches, vulnerable members of our Wigan & Leigh community are bracing for challenges to keep warm, feed their families, and find a safe place to call home. We desperately need your support to make a difference! 

Did you know that 31.1% of children in Wigan & Leigh were living in poverty in 2021/22? That’s a staggering 21,703 children who need our help! Additionally, 356 people, including 160 children, were homeless in Wigan on any given night in 2022. But together, we can fight against poverty and provide a helping hand to those in need.

Last year, our incredible Brick community stepped up and donated a mountain of warm clothing, electric blankets, and slow cookers, all of which were distributed to local families and individuals. Now, as we approach winter again, we’re calling on you to help us “Wrap Up Wigan” in 2023!

We urgently need the following donations to support the most vulnerable members of our community:

🔌 Electric blankets (new) 🛌 Warm blankets 🔥 Hand warmers 🧥 Thermal clothing (Adults & Children) 🧥 Padded coats (Adults & Children) 🧤 Hats / Gloves / Scarves (Adults & Children) 🧦 Socks / Slippers (Adults & Children) ⏲️ Slow cookers 🍳 Air Fryers

In addition to these items, we’re grateful for any monetary donations, as they allow us to bulk buy food and essentials at a lower cost. If you can help, please consider donating through our website at www.thebrick.org.uk. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, makes a significant impact!
